Cartalax is a synthetic tripeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp) from the Khavinson bioregulator family, designed to target cartilage and musculoskeletal tissue. It is the synthetic analog derived from cartilage tissue extracts and is proposed to regulate chondrocyte gene expression. In preclinical studies, Cartalax has demonstrated effects on chondrocyte proliferation, glycosaminoglycan synthesis, and extracellular matrix maintenance. In aging animal models, it has been associated with preservation of cartilage integrity and reduced degenerative changes in joint tissue. The musculoskeletal bioregulator approach is relevant because osteoarthritis — the most common joint disease — is fundamentally driven by imbalanced cartilage metabolism where degradation exceeds synthesis.
